Hello!

Sorry tmi!

I had a baby nearly eight months ago (via c section after a failed induction) and since then I have nothing but issues with my bowel movement, constipation and diarrhoe - very painful. My doctor told me to go on flybegel which didn't really help then give me laxido and told me to drink 4 sachets a day then reduced which I did and then the issue came back.

They said it seems to be an internal pile tried to examine but it was too painful and have now just left me in pain.

The doctor told me to eat less then often, and said for me to take imodium but I don't think you can take imodium and laxido the same time?

i have increased my fiber, lost two stone in pre pregnancy weight, used every cream given. They did give me suppositories but my god .. i can't it hurts so bad!

I have got a referred for my internal friend but God knows when this will be. My friend said it's started to become negligence as I'm always in pain and they refuse to do an emergency referral. I am honestly losing help! I never had this issue before and it's just making me as I can't enjoy my baby as I'm always in pain.

Any help? Advice would be amazing.

I've suffered constant constipation since I had ds 16mo ago

My advice is to lose the laxido. I think they are too mild and you need to take sooo many sachets. I'd go right for the lactulose and germoloid cream for the internal pain. You can get both OTC
That will definitely help you go
Then if you want to do daily doses of laxido to keep it moving you can do it without feeling yucky. And keep up with water as dehydration causes constipation too

Hope this helps!

Sorry @Firsttimemummy23 I didn't see your update

Yeah I use the cream because of the pile I have since birthing ds
Personally I don't find Laxido strong enough maybe try sudocrem for the burning?
Sorry... Is the burning caused by the diorreha?
I don't get bouts of diorreha at all as I only suffer with constipation so hopefully someone can give advice with that xx

Are you BF? I could not avoid constipation whilst BF, no matter how much water I drank (most days in excess of 4 litres). So I took Movicol every day for months. Started on one a day, very gradually reduced until I found my happy amount, then stayed on that until I finished BF. Weaned off the Movicol and back to absolutely fine. You don't need to worry about becoming reliant on Movicol (laxido is the same thing) as it just encourages your bowel to absorb water. You don't become dependent on it.
If you're not bf though, this isn't a great solution. Assuming you're exercising, drinking tons of water and eating a good diet with loads of veg, some fat, and not too much refined carbs? Worth noting that some people find too much fibre can actually make it worse. For myself I find that the bulk of my fibre needs to be fruit and veg. If I eat loads of stuff like Weetabix, all bran, linseed etc, that makes me more likely to be constipated. Everyone is different.

Try scheriproct ointment for the piles. It's a miracle cream! Germaloids did nothing. The scheriproct cleared a horrific piles situation on days. Might give you some slight relief while waiting for the referral
