Really painful lower back pain....HELP!

Feeling a little jinxed lately, so far in the past couple of months i have had ear infection which made me almost completely deaf, tonsillitis, 3 colds and now this

I JUST WANT TO BE WELL! (sorry lol)

So now, last Friday ds woke through the night, so as he wouldn't settle i slept on the floor by his cot, the irony is i had a really good sleep (once ds had gone off and i was in too much of a stuper to get back into bed!)...

Anywaaayyy since then my back has been really bad, getting worse, and even though i have kept moving (not much choice there with dd 4yo and ds 18mth) it has got worse, i now can not straighten up at all and even when i sit, i am getting spasms in my lower back, it is like contractions actually and feels slightly like the terrible SPD i got when pg.

I feel as though something is going to go, and walking is really really painful, i can barely move my legs to walk, it feels like my hips too like the SPD. I have been taking ibuprofen and paracetamol but it doesn't even dull the pain slightly...

Thinking of going the GP tomorrow ( i am sure he thinks i am a hypocondriac!) but really what can he do? i can't really rest due to said wonderfully active and mischievious dc.

He could give you diclofenac which is a slightly different anti-inflammatory, or, he could give you diazepam which is a muscle relaxant which can help with the spasming.

Definitely worth seeing the gp. Just to be on the safe side.

Ooh i will go in the morning then, sure my GP thinks i make it up half the time lol. I bet he sees my name and does a huge eye roll! lol.

I had spd when pg with both of mine. It caused huge problems and took ages to settle down. After DD, I was referred to a rheumatologist, and they discovered that I had a malformed sacro-iliac joint and some other minor malformations in my lumbar spine which exacerbated the spd and meant it didnt really disappear completely. It mean that when I got pg again with DS, I was more aware of how I sat, how often I moved etc.

I know I have an inherent weakness though, and never push my luck with it. It's definitely worth getting checked out.
