After a sigmoidoscopy last year I was told I had a single diverticula funny enough a colonoscopy shortly after I was told I didn't have it!
Colon rectal surgeon said I do as sigmoidoscopy showed it up!
So I wasn't told a lot just to avoid popcorn seeds nut's peas beans potato skins etc
I'm a vegetarian so nuts seeds legumes were a big part of my diet but not anymore!
I'm finding it hard to know what to eat and find I'm eating the same foods over and over I don't have a huge range of foods in my diet anymore and find I'm eating more rubbish vegetarian foods.

Any diverticula sufferers out there can you tell me what foods you eat TIA

Me.. and just recovering from full blown Diverticulitis, which was absolutely horrible!
Also veggie...

The truth is there is a growing amount of evidence that diet makes no difference, with regard to diverticular disease... and lots of have people have diverticula without any problems, never know they have it. If you are unlucky like me and you get inflammation then generally you have a liquid diet for a few days and antibiotics to let the inflammation settle.

So, unless you are getting pain, you don't need to avoid any particular foods. If you get pain from something in particular, then avoid it.

I can't eat peppers, and baked potato skins (same family) do cause pain for me.. doesn't usually get infected though, just left sided plain and bloating. Nuts and seeds don't bother me at all and I always eat seeded bread!

Pizza for some reason... not good (and I think triggered this bout of diverticulitis.. I literally couldn't move for pain)

In a nutshell (get it? Grin) I wouldn't restrict your diet at all if you aren't having any problems. A high fibre diet is usually reccommended.. but there are also studies that show the exact opposite..and if you do get an actual attack then VERY low fibre (soups clear fluids) is what happens.
