I'm getting episodes where I can't control my legs properly I've collapsed on a couple of occasions but normally I can find something to lean against. I don't feel dizzy or anything.

My GP didn't have a clue so she talked it over with a couple of colleagues. They want me to have a blood test and a scan of my head.

has anyone else ever had anything like this?

Bumping for you

Has your GP referred you to a Neurologist for opinion? Symptoms like that can’t be ignored OP. I hope you feel much better soon.

Sounds worrying. I have heard of things like cauda equina have they ruled that out? I think if it happens again get checked at A & E. Also MS. Hope all is Ok.

I had this and it turned out to be a combination of hemiplegic migraines (with no headache) and epilepsy.

Neurology diagnosed me and meds have helped a lot :) I've just started short distance running again.

I remember at the beginning leaning on the printer at work as I couldn't walk to my desk. My colleagues had to carry me which was rather humiliating.

The only thing it made me think of is restless leg syndrome but I don’t know if that only happens when you’re asleep?

I was in gabapentin once and that was sometimes prescribed for that. Wouldn’t recommend it though if you aren’t 100% sure it’s needed.

Mrssillylegs · 10/02/2023 17:27

"Drop attacks" - (atonic seizures) is the exact epilepsy that I have.

Get well soon OP x

OP, you've seen your GP. I presume they've asked you lots of questions and examined you, they've discussed your problem with colleagues (who presumably also couldn't come up with an instant diagnosis) so now referring you for further tests, which is clearly the best thing to do in the circumstances.

I'm not sure why you think a bunch of internet strangers, most of them without medical qualifications, will be able to guess better than your GP?

Apologies if I've missed something -

Your kegs can suddenly be weak and you drop to the ground with ME/Chronic fatigue.

There are a whole raft of symptoms, not just tiredness.

It’s diagnosed on the basis of symptoms once everything else is ruled out. There is no test for it.

Legs lol 😂
