How does celiac present itself?

How does celiac disease show? Do people get ill with it? Does it show on ordinary blood work? Does it show on a colonscopy?

Basically I have diverticolosis and sometimes infections in the colon or diverticulitis. It was suggested to me on a different forum that maybe I might have celiac. I am on a haircare forum and I implement a lot of haircare practices but my hair still shows damage and I made little progress on hair hair growth in 5 years. Celiac was mentioned to me.
I don't know how to explore that with my GP.

there is lots of info here about getting diagnosed and speaking to your GP. They will likely want to know what symptoms you experience and will probably do a blood test. It’s important not to stop eating gluten containing food until after being tested. Have you had your ferritin levels checked at all? Although anything over 15-20 (depending on the labs reference range) is classed as ‘normal’, ferritin levels need to be above 70 to support hair growth.

Everyone’s symptoms pre-diagnosis vary. I have another auto immune condition and was being treated for it when I mentioned some of my symptoms to consultant. He arranged blood test to check for specific antibodies. They showed positive and so to confirm diagnosis I had to have a gastroscopy.

I just checked my last blood test results. My ferritin is 79.
Low iron at 4.
