Opposite of leaky bladder

Help I'm 60 and a mum. I expected to have some incontinence as I got older but I have the opposite problem. I've worked for 40 years in a job where you cant just take your protective clothing off and go to the loo every 5 minutes so I've tended to hold it in for hours. Now I'm having problems going at all. I want to go but I can't I'm in the loo for ages and the flow is really slow. I drink loads of water but it doesn't make any difference. How can I get my bladder to let go?

OP, I think you need to see your GP with that.

Sounds like you need to visit your GP and get a referral to a gynaecologist or urologist who does urodynamics ( bladder pressure testing).

Hi O/P, it could be that because your bladder is used to being stretched out that the muscle within the walls is not functioning well. Go to your GP and ask for an urology referral and they may also want to do urodynamics. They will also want to screen you for anything more serious.
In the meantime try using a vibrator (turned on) gently pressed into your lower abdomen over your bladder when you are trying to pee. Try to fully relax the pelvic floor muscles. The vibration can help to trigger your bladder muscles to contract and empty your bladder.
it needs to be a rampant rabbit dildo style not a clitoral stimulator.

Yes Im doing that too just wondered if anyone else had ever had this problem.

Thanks I'll give it ago. I don't have one but I guess I can get one for "medical reasons". 😂

sit in a nice warm bath and try going in the water ? not as a permanent solution but until you get sorted .

I have bladder issues similar to this and I’m currently being investigated via urology so I can’t give you any answers but you definitely need to see a GP and potentially get a referral to urology.

Google urine retention. Then make an appointment with the GP
