Should I buy a gift

Hi
Maybe a silly question but do you gift doctors? I had an operation, and a few follow up appointments after. My question is do you buy something as a thank you?
I come from a different country.
And if so, what should it be?
Chocolate, coffee...?
Thank you xx

People do take chocolates to hospital wards to thank everyone, flowers I think are no longer allowed in hospitals, not the ones I know anyway but I'm willing to be corrected.
Nothing wrong with taking chocolate for a doctor/surgeon.

Sorry you didn't ask about flowers 😂

Thank you for your time to answer my question.
I will grt some nice chocolate then, no flowers as I know some may be allergic to them, chocolate is always good idea😉

I got some chocolates for the consultant & surgical team who did my surgery, and a big box of muffins for the nurses on the ward who looked after me afterwards too. It's not customary or expected at all, but it's a nice gesture if you do want to thank them.
