Sinusitis

I keep getting sinusitis. Any recommendations on best drugs to get/what to do. GP is impossible to get through to and last time in December, was told it will go in its own before reluctantly giving me doxycyclin.

Try a Neilmed sinus rinse kit every day

My GP told me there’s a tendency to keep getting it once you get it first time. I was given antibiotics and advised to ask the pharmacy for a nasal spray. The nasal spray seemed to make a difference. Good luck. It’s painful isn’t it? 💐

Get some pseudoephedrine, it’s pharmacy only and the clinical data is amazing. Do not be fobed off with phenylephrine as it’s useless.

Google sinus massages, you will find certain parts super painful, that’s the blockage that needs to be massaged out before infection.

Any sinus pain I take this drug, massage and occasional steam my face. Vicks in hot water with a towel your head and lots of snot tends to dribble out.

Beconase spray and steam with a steam mug twice a day.

Sinus massages, neti pot. Prevention rather than cure. (and I'm a hypocrite because I'm useless at it till my head feels like it's going to drop off!)

Take painkillers separately to sinus meds (separate pills I mean)

Another vote for Neilmed sinus rinse, it's brilliant.

I find sinutab (behind the counter) works really well. Much better than sudafed for me. Not sure what the active ingredient is but it works for me.

That makes sense, in my medicine cabinet I've got both and always save the one with pseudoephedrine in for bad days (and non work days as it sends me dopey, in rather a nice way but still! )

Thanks for the replies. I've found Sinnutab, inhaling with menthol crystals and Otrivine has done the job. Thanks again
