Sleep apnoea- oxygen levels, help please

Hello
i have recently been diagnosed with quite severe sleep apnoea (Score 62).
its taken me quite awhile to get any help for it as the department that deals with it locally has been closed/short staffed etc. understandable. But one thing has really bothered me. I was given a print out of my sleep study that clearly shows my oxygen levels are about 60% over night. From sleep study to cpap machine was just over six weeks. Is this not quite irresponsible? Everything I’ve read says oxygen levels that low are pretty dangerous. Can anyone provide an insight? Im worried that it will have done some long term damage?
thank you in advance

If you continued with the the sleep apnoea with no cpap machine if severe enough can give you high blood pressure and really increases your risk of heart attack but now you are on treatment you will be lots better.
I have sleep apnea and have had a cpap machine for about 10 years.
when I was diagnosed I was told I had to stop driving until I was legally compliant. So had to wait for cpap machine then three months figures to show I could drive again.
If the lack of oxygen had caused problems you would have known about it by now.
You just learn to live with using the cpap machine every night.

Recently diagnosed with sleep apnea... well, that's not good to hear. I can only imagine how you might be feeling. May I ask what exactly the department that deals with this instructed you? Just continue using the CPAP machine? I'm not exactly qualified to comment on the indication of your 60% oxygen levels at night... did you check with the department on this low level of oxygen? A couple of weeks before, a person near my home was diagnosed with sleep apnea but I didn't care to ask what the oxygen levels were. He told me he's bought a brand-new CPAP machine and now has to get accustomed to it. I wish you feel better soon!
