Heavy period with clots

I’ll be 40 in July and have always had normal periods. Back in May 22 my period was really heavy on day 3 filling pads with clots then stopped after day 4. June & July were exactly the same and I’ve gone back to normal since. However, today same thing has happened again.
I'm petrified that this is cervical cancer but others have mentioned it could just be my age. Coincidently, I have my smear booked for next month.
Anyone had anything similar?

Same here at 43. Gp was excellent and I've been seen by gynaecologists for every test possible (it feels like), including scans and biopsy's. All back clear and normal. They are recommending a coil to be fitted. But I'm heard this can make things even worse, so still a bit unsure what to do. I have to wear pale trousers at work, which is a bit of a nightmare for 2 days a month.

Yes 10 is really low. If you have a Google it gives ranges. An iron infusion will give quicker results that tablets. Did they tell you to take them with vitamin c or orange juice ? It helps absorption.
And they explained the anemia is likely why your periods are so heavy?

Does anaemia cause heavy periods? I though it was caused by heavy periods!!
no, just sent me a text saying it was 10 and they’d prescribed iron tablets to pick up from the chemist. I am only on 1 a day so didn’t think it was that low. It’s giving me awful pain in stomach 😟

I’m 43, been TTC for 3 years, had an MMC in 21 then 3 rounds of IVF last year. We found I’ve got low egg quality and are just about to start donor egg IVF next month.
my periods and ovulation have always been super regular with a 27 day cycle and only sometimes a little spotting 2 days before AF.
everything went back to normal straight after the MMC and IVF.
Until this cycle….. 🤨
had AF as normal. Stopped for 2 days then I started bleeding again, just light, for about 4 days (never happened before)
I only did one OPK the day before predicted OV which would normally be high but was super low.
yesterday at what should have been 5DPO I started bleeding again heavily (so 9 days before AF is due)
I use a moon cup, had hardly any blood when I fit out of bed but 15 minutes later my cup filled up and in it was the biggest clots! I’ve always had a few smaller clots with AF but I’ve never seen anything like this - sorry for far TMI but it looked like pieces of liver!! 😳😳😳
wtf??!! any ideas?

I had a bit of cramping with my first but of unusual bleeding but nothing I’ve noticed this time. Mega headache yesterday though

Thanks in advance for any help, I’m freaking!! We’ve been waiting for so long to start the IVF again and I’m scared this is going to mess it all up 😞
