Physio after shoulder surgery - is it better to do at the hospital or go to a centre?

Under my company plan - I have a choice to go to where I was operated at or pick one of the physio centres near work/home.

Are the physios much different in these settings?

Physios vary and there is no way of knowing which will be the best for you, Make sure you see someone who specialises in shoulders and isn’t just a general physio.

I have had surgery on both shoulders , with the first one I went to the shoulder group at the operating hospital , with the second I saw a private physio once and cracked on at home alone - the second time was better for me and I have the same level of function in both shoulders . I should say that the operations were only about 6 months apart .

I've had frozen shoulder op, and saw private physio once because in covid no nhs, then nhs. Dh had both shoulders done separately, both nhs. They all report back to consultant.

For me it is rotator cuff surgery to fix severe tear

I had shoulder decompression surgery & went to the hospital for
physio, I had sheets of exercises to do at home. I only had to go 3 times over 3 months.
