Worried sick though I have health anxiety but I’m not imagining things

So My cervix has always been smooth as far as I can remember ( though not a regular checker)

In August I checked randomly and found two lumps which I panicked but felt they had reduced in size so wasn’t too worried. And I knew my smear was due in September so I brought it up . The nurse said she didn’t see anything at all quickly and did my smear . That came back clear thankfully

I checked in December out of interest. The two lumps were stil there but then another two popped up. I went to my GP and she said she couldn’t see anything and everything looked “pink” there despite me feeling the bumps

Didn’t want to act like a nuisance so thought I leave it alone. This morning I thought I should check and then apart from the almost 4 bumps , there is a very sore spot or tiny pimple like bump which is painful when touched though nor bleeding. The other bumps are not painful

That has started driving my anxiety through the roof. Should I go to the gp again or has anyones nabothian cysts been painful to touch?

Don’t want to keep wasting NHS time ?

Anyone had anything similar ?

Thank you

I’m sorry but have I got this right?

You regularly stick your fingers inside your Varuna to reach your cervix and try to feel for lumps and bumps?

And you do this already uncommon and strange thing to do - even when you’ve had normal smears and a nurse and a doctor checking to say it’s all fine?

reassurance seeking is the fuel on which health anxiety thrives - so I am not going to speak about these so called lumps.

other posters should also bear in mind that reassuring you about the red herring of the cervical bumps is only going to feed the real issue which is the health anxiety.

what are the steps you are currently taking to address your illness ie the health anxiety?

Hah. Varuna = vagina.

I check my cervix, just got into the habit when I had a coil and then when I was TTC 🤷🏼‍♀️

I had a huge Nabothian cyst which was painful, then it burst a few days later.

I probably would go back to the GP just for reassurance.

I’ve had a polyp on my cervix for years.

I don’t check it but I was having a mirena fitted recently and asked the nurse if she could see it and she couldn’t so 🤷‍♀️

Anyway. I think you suffer from health anxiety. You’ve been told it’s fine but you’re still rooting around in there trying to find a problem.

Could it be something they call a Pearl? I had one. It's nothing serious x

@PayPennies checking the position of the cervix is a legitimate way to check for signs of impending/post ovulation. This poster may have, in the process, felt these lumps. As have I in the past.

If you have felt the lump and it is of concern to you, and feels sore, then by all means discuss with your GP and they can signpost you appropriately.

It's most likely a nabothian follicle. Stop poking it, that's probably why it's sore.

Lol I wasn't regularly doing this. All these just started last Aug but then It's just the anxiety of wanting to know if it's gone so I can have some peace of mind.

I've heard stories were people were misdiagnosed that's why im scared and trying to know if im doing the right thing not pushing for further checks

This exact thing happened to me in 2021 - went on a 2ww referral and turned out to be a polyp
