Without changing anything in my normal routine (washing liquid, shower gels etc) I have developed a rash that is all over my back, stomach, tops of arms, hips, tops of legs and chest.

It's very itchy, so much so it's keeping me up at night.

The pic is my stomach

You haven't eaten anything different ? Do you feel well in yourself? Go to a pharmacy in the morning, they may be able to identify it.

rollitagain · 16/01/2023 23:43

Nothing different, no.

Shingles?

GeorgiePorgiePuddingPie · 16/01/2023 23:45

Sounds like chickenpox to be honest.

paulhollywoodshairgel · 16/01/2023 23:56

I had something similar. Dr said it was foliculitis. Course of antibiotics sorted it.

rollitagain · 17/01/2023 05:45

@GeorgiePorgiePuddingPie

No blisters.

Looks like folliculitis or a bug of some sort. Have you been anywhere with a jacuzzi or hot tub or swimming recently? Have you changed and washed towels regularly?

Vegandiva · 17/01/2023 06:04

It might be this thing called Pityriasis Rosea en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pityriasis_rosea
I got it twice and suspected it was happening because I didn’t get any sun on that part of my body for quite some time, and I did a few sunbed sessions and it went away on its own. Since then I made an effort to expose my trunk to the sun every year and it hasn’t come back.
Did you notice one large patch first before the smaller ones arrived?
Mine wasn’t itchy, but it says it can be itchy in that link. Good luck!

bluecrayola · 17/01/2023 06:39

Is there a chance it could be scabies? That word tends to freak people out but it's not that uncommon, and the itching is worse at night. Check out the NHS page.

Riverlee · 17/01/2023 06:52

It’s worth consulting your doctor.

Do they do an online system where you can send in photos? (Ours is called E-consult) or see your pharmacist. If it’s itchy, maybe worth taking an antihistamine.

toomuchon · 17/01/2023 07:09

Scarlet fever, I reckon. Someone I know has exactly this. It's also pretty prevalent at the moment.

rollitagain · 17/01/2023 10:19

@WeAreTheHeroes

Haven't been swimming nor a
Jacuzzi.

OP posts:
WeAreTheHeroes · 17/01/2023 10:22

Scarlet fever then as others have said.

NothingButSpace · 17/01/2023 18:57

It doesn’t look like chickenpox or shingles to me. .

Easternext · 17/01/2023 19:15

Shingles is one sided so if it's all over its not shingles.

bluecrayola · 19/01/2023 06:31

How are you doing, OP? Do you still have the rash?
