Pain after c-section ... during/after you know what ... when will it stop?

You don't have to divulge your private life to me but I would appreciate some feedback telling me that it will go away...

Had ds 12 weeks ago and when we 'did the deed' the first time it was no problem. Since then though it's been very painful especially afterwards. The doc says that's to be expected but didn't offer me any other advice than 'take it easy'. Oh how I loath this phrase! It's not as if we've got the energy for 'rampant nooky' anyhow (not that you wanted to know that )

Didn't have this problem after dd 3 years ago. Is it age I wonder? or because it's the second c-section?

Are or were any of you ladies in the 'same boat' who could cheer me up a bit by telling me that the pain will go soon?

Sorry for lamenting my sex life here.

Yes it will go soon
try it from behind, less pressure on your scar

MrsBigDrumsADrumming · 04/12/2004 15:14

You go girl!

aloha · 04/12/2004 17:11

Um, where is the pain? is it due to pressure directly on the scar?

MrsBigDrumsADrumming · 05/12/2004 13:56

it's sort of internal... almost like a very bad period cramp just much worse

Very odd....I can't see why that would happen. It won't be age and I can't see why it would be due to the section... your GP sounds rubbish. Maybe a family planning clinic could help?

aloha · 05/12/2004 15:28

Just done a google search....seems some kind of treatable infection is a likely cause. A specialist family planning doctor is a much better bet than your gp.

MrsBigDrumsADrumming · 05/12/2004 21:27

thanks aloha, will try and find a family planning clinic nearby then and see if they can advise. And yes... my GP is rather rubbish. They did have a brilliant Locum but she's left :( and the main GP doesn't really seem to care... a few years back it took me 8 visits to her to 'persuade' her that I need to see a gyno for my extreme period pains... finally got an appointment only to find out the week before that I was preggers with DD and the gyno wouldn't do an internal ... gotta love this country. Back home, Germany, you go directly to a gyno AT LEAST every 6 months for routine check-ups!
Sorry for the rant SmileBlush but sometimes I despair with the healthcare in the UK

I think aloha's suggestion is likely to be the one. I had what sounds like similar pain and it turned out to be infection which had been there since the section. 2 lots of antibiotics got rid of it in my case. you have my sympathy - its really painful, but if it is that, it does go quite quickly - best of luck
