Constant dull, 'burning' stomach ache

I've noticed I have quite a constant, dull stomach ache. It feels like a burning kind of sensation, in a band in the middle of my abdomen above my belly button. It gets worse when I have an empty stomach, and eating eases it.

The only other time I have had this stomach ache was when I was a teenager and would take ibuprofen on an empty stomach for period pain (I no longer do this). It's the same burning kind of ache.

Any ideas? I've had a blood test and have borderline low B12 but everything else is normal

Gastritis I reckon. I would get some omeprazole from the supermarket and take every morning, then chug a bit of gaviscon as and when needed.

Empty stomach often makes it worse so crackers or plain biscuits if that helps.

Are you stressed? I get similar sometimes and it’s when I’m stressed. I think it’s from tensing my muscles because I’m tense, or stress producing extra stomach acid

H. Pylori possibly. Ask for a test. Very common, causes gastritis symptoms but can can lead to ulcers.

I had this alongside a flu-type illness over Christmas. It was enough to make me stop dead and hold my breath. It passed quite quickly but much worse if I hadn’t eaten.

I am stressed, and it definitely gets worse when I'm stressed. I did a stool sample and it showed really high inflammation so I've been referred for a colonoscopy

I’ve had this before- horrible and defo gets worse with stress. I take over the counter Nexium the second I feel it coming on. Other than that I wait it out with paracetamol. It has been horrific before though.
