DH tested positive for covid and I tested negative?

Hey guys. I have a 2 month old and me and my family have been sick this last week. We all had a fever and cold and are now much better. Yesterday, DH tested positive for covid. I took a lateral flow test too (twice) and I tested negative. I’m confused as hell because we all had the same symptoms although we’re feeling much better now. Is it possible that I got it before DH and I no longer have covid, or what? I don’t know but I’m pretty sure it’s what we all had.

We’re all at home, not going out anywhere

Sometimes lfts don't pick up the virus, they aren't super sensitive. Just avoid going out until you're better, that's the rules now.

We’re better but not going out yet. I did two lfts and both were negative, so confusing

I tested negative every day until I started to feel better, then I tested positive for 4 days.
They are quite fallible the tests, depends where the virus is, can't tell the difference between the dead and live virus you are shedding but it quite often doesn't seem to test positive when you are at your most contagious.
Just treat it as a general guide and self isolate if you feel ill.

I tested positive 4 days after my DH although we both had the same symptoms.

Just stop testing - it doesn't matter. If you feel too unwell to go out, then stay at home. Otherwise, carry on as normal. Exactly the same as if you had a bad cold.

You may well have all had covid, some people only test positive for first couple of days. DH is still testing positive (but no longer infectious) a week later.
It doesn't help you now but for the future if you're going to do a covid test then do it early on with symptoms. You're now in the situation you don't know how long DH has been positive for so don't know if he's still infectious.

I tested positive the Weds before Christmas and was quite ill with it. My husband didn't get it at all even though we live in a small house with no beds in our spare room.

We limited contact but didn't go anywhere until I tested negative.
