Ive been unable to walk in a straight line for 6 weeks, lost a bit of hearing in one ear and feel slightly spaced out. Ears been de-waxed, GP couldnt find anything waiting for referral now. Ive actually booked a private appointment for ENT for speed but still got a bit of a wait.
Anyone got any ideas what it is, im not dizzy so cant say its vertigo.

It sounds a bit like labyrinthitus to me, although I’m no expert!

When I had it I was walking like a crab sideways, and I was advised to buy stugeron from the pharmacy (sea sickness tablets) and they were really effective.

Maybe you could ask the pharmacist about over the counter treatment whilst you wait for your appointment.

I have this occasionally due to being peri menopausal could it be that?

I have thought it might be labrynthitis, it came on overnight but lasted 6 weeks now so I worried it could be something else, and might be permanent damage.
Seems to get worse as the day goes on, nothing when sitting down just when walking. Its so debilitating, dog hasnt had more than 10 mins out on a walk as thats about how long I can safely walk!

Did you check your iron levels?

Ive had a load of B12 injections as that was quite low, no improvement, but I
feel its an ear thing due to loss of some hearing and sort of tinnitus, I get a feedback /echo when I speak.
Dont know how to describe it really but thats only started about 4 weeks ago
Im hoping it will go overnight the same way it came

Meniere's ? but it could be anything.... you need to wait for the specialist.

Labyrinthitis tends to come in episodes..... short lived.

Mine came on and was terrible, i had an injection from a GP home visit, i was bedridden, then followed normal/loss of balance events, eventually saw a Dr who put me on a load MH medication and sea sickness pills.
Saw another who took me off them and said "get on with your life, your brain will compensate, that was about 20 years ago, aside from a bit of tinnitus and deafness in one ear,, been fine since.

I think labyrinthitis can last for weeks in some cases. It’s probably worth trying some sea sickness tabs for now (get advice from the pharmacist obviously first) just give see if they help.
