Recently been wondering if I have either after a few threads on here and issues with anxiety and depression eating disorder on off for decades.
I like a routine, yet like to be spontaneous too.
Eat similar things for weeks on end.
Can't stand loud tv or bright lights.
No good in social situations though I love people.
Talk too much to anyone and have to stop myself.
Workaholic and always on the go.
Always got new ideas.
Deep intuition which is normally spot on.
Always think outside the box and a bit of a non conformist.
Normally skip meals if I'm engrossed in something.
Can push myself past others normal limits.
I can do a million things at once.
Any ideas

You might or you might not, but nobody can diagnose you online from a few vague statements.

AceofPentacles · 28/12/2022 19:17

Google the autistic quotient test and see how you score

whatisforteamum · 28/12/2022 20:41

Thank you.2 points within the range.

I'd say no, based on your post (but agree with PP, nobody can diagnose from such statements) . Adhd and autism are entirely symptom based anyway, so more important are functional asoects eg if you have problems forming relationships, holding down jobs etc.

whatisforteamum · 29/12/2022 07:25

Well I don't have any friends,a few acquaintances.
I prefer not to have to fit in with others.

My son has Aspergers and from my experience if sounds like you easily could be. Although you’d really need to see a GP and be tested properly as online tests are no true indication for it.

whatisforteamum · 29/12/2022 17:55

Thank you awayfromthenoise.
An old work colleague I got on well with was suspected as having aspergers.
I don't understand some social convention's and put it down to working unsociable hours.

I suppose I have some experience with people with aspergers so I’m happy to chat to try and help in anyway I can

whatisforteamum · 29/12/2022 18:47

I am trying to make sense of some of my ways
Now I have a new job and perhaps my honesty is taken as rudeness, ways of working different ,got me wondering if I really do think differently.

You sound very like me. My dc is autistic and has Adhd. I score very highly on the aq test (43) for autism and come up moderate risk of adhd on any adhd screening tests I have done. Been thinking about an assessment for a while now.

Christmascracker0 · 29/12/2022 18:56

I definitely identify with your traits and have been thinking I must be ND for a while now, it’s become more prevalent since lockdowns/WFH.

I have thought about an assessment but not sure how to go about it? Do you just go to the GP and say “I think I am autistic can you test me please”?!

whatisforteamum · 29/12/2022 19:09

Itsonlyagame that is interesting.
I've only ever been myself in a large family so all different personalities.
My dsis grandkids are both ND.
I've had issues going on holidays, eating in public. My dh says it is easier to let me make decisions as I have my ways.

whatisforteamum · 29/12/2022 20:12

Christmascracker0 I may just do that myself.

Awayfromthenoise how old is your son?
What made you persue a diagnosis?

OP posts:
AwayFromTheNoise · 30/12/2022 20:23

@whatisforteamum my son is 14 and got officially diagnosed at 10. He’s always been rather quirky and straightforward, has a lot of anxiety about day to day life and overall struggles to make friends
