Oxygen levels - went lowish but recovered quickly, should I pass it by the asthma nurse??

I have asthma, normally relatively mildly, occasionally flares when I have a bad cold etc. I currently have a nasty chesty cold and cough for the second time in 5 weeks. Feel breathless and genereally rubbish. I have a finger oxygen monitor so I am keeping an eye on things. When well I am normally a healthy 98%. Sat down with this cold I am normally 96% which from googling I believe is perfectly acceptable. Went upstairs just now and dropped to 92%. Which isn't special, but did recover fairly quickly. So, should I be concerned about the 92% or is the fact it bounced back mean its ok?? I am a bit prone to health anxiety and the breathlessness is worrying me, but I am aware I may just be fretting unneccessarily.

If you are feeling that rubbish, not getting better, have asthma and drop your sats on exertion you should be getting medical help TODAY

You probably need a course of steroids at the very least.

Having had a son who nearly died of asthma 11 times, I'd say get some advice asap. However, having said that, I regularly have O2 sats of 84, but doc says finger oximeter is only a guide, measuring just extremities. I have a BP regularly of 71/42 and pulse down to 32. Apparently that's ok and I'm just making a fuss. But I would urge you to get checked.

O2 sats area minefield. My right hand they are 98% and left hand 95% . I would go on how you are feeling.
