Open root canal - dentists please help!!

So I started the process of having a root canal done in October 2019. I had 3 appointments and the dentist managed to get most of the 'stuff' out of the tooth to prepare it for a crown. However, before my last appointment I found out I was pregnant and my morning sickness started. By the time I started to feel better, covid happened. The dentist had put a temporary filling inside the tooth which slowly chipped away and I was left with a hole. Once I had my baby, I went back for another temporary filling.

Long story short....I ended up having a tooth extraction on the other side of my mouth because a root canal couldn't save the tooth. Pregnancy ruined my teeth! I was too scared to go back to the dentist and now its been 3 years that I've had an open root canal. I've been told that it will need to be extracted. There's literally nothing in the hole other than new gum which has grown there..if that makes sense. So my question is, will this cause me other health problems? I am terrified of having this tooth extracted but I know I need to. Will it be more complicated because now there's gum in the middle of it?! Will the dentist need to break the tooth into pieces before extracting it? I never eat on that side but food gets stuck there anyway and it's really difficult to brush because of the hole. Ugh I hate teeth.

How exactly has gum grown in there? Isn't it in the centre of the tooth? Which tooth is it?

It's a back molar tooth. So the back of the tooth cracked initially and it's left a hole from the side. The tooth is currently a U shape so the gum has grown in the gap

Probably will need to be sectioned so that each root can be taken out individually. Doesn’t necessarily make it more complicated
