Itching

Hi
I'm looking for some advice and hoping other mums to be have experienced this and have some suggestions?
I experience unexplained itching every evening, there is no rash and it generally only happens in the evening after I have finished work and sit down to relax
I am 28 weeks and this is my first baby. I experienced this whilst going through IVF treatment but not as severely as now that I'm pregnant and previously I had put it down to the IVF medication.
I have had 3 lots of blood tests for cholestasis, iron deficiency etc and all clear. I have been tried on 3 antihistamine's and 2 types of creams. I have tried changing washing powder, avoiding perfumes and scented creams, oils and other products, wearing cotton clothing, buying new clothing, showering more (and less), I am out of things to try.
It sounds like such a small thing but is driving me up the wall, I'm really tired and for the couple of hours I do get to sit down on an evening I cannot sit still, it is so uncomfortable and irritating especially because it has been going on for months and months and is showing no signs of abating.
I have discussed with my GP, my consultant and my midwife but they have just said probably hormonal and it will hopefully stop on its own. I can't relax and it's impacting my sleep. Any suggestions?

Sympathies. That must be awful.
I know Cholestasis has been ruled out in your case but where does the itching occur?
I had Obstetric Cholestasis for each pregnancy & the itching was horrific. It affected the palms of hands & soles of feet mostly. No visible rash. Never felt particularly well either. Very much worse at night.
Check that your urine isn't dark or your stools aren't pale.
Calamine lotion might help with the itching.

The itching is all over from my toes to my scalp. I had read about the signs of cholestatis being itching more so on palms of hands and soles of feet but it isn't any worse in these areas. My legs are probably the worst area and in bed my back and sides as well as my legs. Thanks for the calamine lotion tip!
