Propranolol for migraines anyone?

Started 10 days ago a week on 20mg twice daily for a week then raise to 40mg twice daily as a preventive for weekly migraine attacks. So far no side-effects that I can see but already had one migraine. Keen to hear of ppl's experience on this drug how long it takes to work (if it works) and if anyone got measurable weight gain on it?

Yes me. Been on 50mg for about 17 years now and an absolute game changer. I still have Sumatriptan for the migraines that I do get but they are relatively rare now and usually stopped in their tracks before they get hold.
No side effects but I put a stone on fairly quickly however I am a lifelong dieter am now diagnosed diabetic after putting another stone on over the last 10 years (I am only just over the limit and it goes under if I lose half a stone but I just can't keep it off or lose any more - my fault entirely - no excuses).
If you are good with your diet and exercise I don't think you will have any problems.
It was more of a gradual thing with me from having two migraines every three week cycle and only having 5 or 6 days pain free each month to realising about 3 or 4 months in that I was feeling so much better not only with the pain of the migraines but the underlying fogginess and fatigue was much less frequent.
I am 62 now and told GP at my last medication review that I was not prepared to come off them.

I'm a chronic migraine sufferer and also have the odd hemiplegic migraine.
I've tried most thing, propranolol as a preventative and it was useless for me. Sumatriptan is the only drug that ever worked on the onset of an attack but because I was having too many migraines a month they wouldn't prescribe them more often and had to come off them 🙃
It may work with you, it may not. Everyone's different. As PP stated above they're a game changer for her. It's all trial and error x
