Strep a - as an adult

Is anyone dealing with strep as an adult?

Mine started with exhaustion (presumed I was coming down with flu), then chills, then high fever, and finally the sore throat
and nausea.

Saw the doctor who put me on antibiotics. It seemed to then spread to my jaw and around my neck/ear area. Finally antibiotics are kicking in properly now about mid course. Now just left with total exhaustion and no appetite. Although I know I’m getting better I actually feel more sorry for myself, it’s the exhaustion really feels depressing. And not leaving the house in over a week (other than to the docs).

How are others holding up?

My adult son (30) is just getting over it. Same symptoms as you. He’s lost a bit of weight but is feeling much better. Took about 3 weeks. Sorry, it sounds really horrible.

Our house started with 4yo with scarlett fever. Then 5yo old with strep throat and an ear infection. Then dh with strep throat. Now me. We haven't sought antibiotics for the adults. Dh is low but largely over it in 48h. I'm currently shivery, sweaty, achy and feverish. It's awful but I imagine I'll feel brighter tomorrow

The exhaustion is still there, just about managed to wash my hair today, and have been making myself eat food. Hope everyone else is on the mend

Because it was diagnosed by my GP as bacterial tonsillitis- and she said strep. Pus on tonsils and red, bloody spots (sorry to be graphic). I also felt the infection spread to my jaw but antibiotics seem to have kicked that.
