Handhold for appointment

I've booked a private appointment tomorrow with a GP after failing to get anywhere with my own GP (can only offer me an appointment in 4-6 weeks!).
I've been suffering with ad hoc upset stomachs and lots of mucus and today there was a tiny bit of blood on top of the mucus. I do have piles and it did look like there was a small cut but it shook me up.

I'm terrified of the appointment, I suffer crippling health anxiety and have this evening been thinking over and over what if it is something sinister and I leave my DS.

Can I have a handhold/reassurance that it may not be something sinister

I wouldn’t panic about a bit of blood if you have a cut and piles. It’s likely to be from that.
But obviously you need to be checked- so great that you are being tomorrow.

Holding your hand tight. I've been there and thought the worst, but in my case it was ulcerative colitis, which is now completely managed with a low dose of medication daily. If you have piles, though, it's highly likely to be those, especially if it was just a little bit of fresh blood.

I really really hope it will be ok.

I'm so scared, I've seen what sinister things can do and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.

If it wasn't for the fact I'd looked closely I never would have realised which is what has annoyed me I shouldn't have studied it!

I’ve had a similar thing for a few years, back and forth to docs it’s always put down to piles

last weekend MASSIVE bleeding, I thought I was a goner at 33 leaving my 6 month old boy without me

it’s so frightening isn’t it

Ive had a scan, now awaiting colonoscopy to see if it’s different, unrelated, things or something like a PP said ulcerative colitis / Crohns

Im sure it will be absolutely fine but you are 100% doing the right thing by getting it seen to, always better to be on the safe side with these things

Hand hold for us both xx

It's very very likely to be nothing sinister. I have IBS and hemorrhoids. I regularly have pain and mucus from the IBS, and blood from the hemorrhoids. And I'm talking toilet water turned red amount of blood! That's been happening now and again for over 10 years, and I have nothing sinister. When I told my GP about these symptoms, she did a few tests (blood tests, stool samples, felt my abdomen) and prescribed me some meds to help with things. Good luck at your appointment.

I have had similar, I'm perimenopausal and find piles have cropped up, not sure your age but if in your 40s you might find its quite common on here

Hand hold to you from icy county. I have piles and occasionally I see blood. I have a lot of stomach issues too. Do u eat gluten? I have cut it out and seen some improvement. What I am trying to say things are not always sinister. Try to do something to take your mind of it.

Handhold to all you facing the same too.

Currently watching toy story 3 for the 50th time today with DS who isn't tired yet!

I'm mid 20s. DH has also been having various digestive issues (same upset stomachs etc) so maybe it's all related

Well I went. Was really lovely and worthwhile

No concerns it's anything sinister due to a small cut down there which would explain the minuscule amount of blood and no lumps bumps / any additional warning signs.

Referred me for a blood test for coeliac as the mucus that I've always had is likely to be a symptom with that especially as there is a family history.

Case of keep an eye but not to paining
