It's bloody awful. I hate being a woman some days!

Mine was 3 and I felt ok because that was normal for me. The doc wasn't all that bothered as my other level (can't remember the name) was 9. All part of being a woman apparently 🙄. No further investigation needed despite me being anaemic for my entire adult life.

I was prescribed ferrous sulphate but now just buy it over the counter as it works out cheaper. I take it twice daily as I need it with food to prevent the nausea, my last result had risen but still under the threshold and no further appointments were made for me. When I get breathless and dizzy I up the dose and it usually picks me up again.

A few days usually, I felt pretty normal at a low level because it was what I was used to. 2 pregnancies back to back didn't help.

I feel worse when it drops now because I know how much better I feel when it's higher although have never reached 'normal'. I could probably run a marathon if I ever get to that point 😂. My dr also wouldn't allow an infusion because my level rose, just very slowly which showed that the tablets were working. I'd rather have had it then tried to maintain but hey ho, I can't afford it privately so...
