Horners syndrome

Does any one have this eye condition?

I have this droopy eye lid on one eye. I have seen the GP who referred me to the eye clinic, who have conducted tests, MRI of brain and CT scan of chest and neck. Although I have no tumours, I still have this droopy eye lid. I don't appear to gave any other symptoms at present. I've had bloods done and so far, nothing untoward has been found. I'm worried, as I don't know what's causing it and some colleagues have noticed it too.

I'm due a review in 4 weeks and I'm to ring the eye clinic if things get worse.

They haven't said it's definitely Horners but they haven't said it isn't. Just a question mark.

Not Horner’s but I have had ptosis of both eyelids (age related, judging by how many times they used the word ‘mature’!) and was treated by surgery to put stitches in the levator muscles. Since the surgery I’ve had double vision, which was probably already present but the droopy eyelids masked it, so I’m being tested for that - blood tests, MRI with contrast and possibly other scans/tests to rule out thyroid, myasthenia gravis (which my brother has).

Sorry, that got rather long! Ptosis could be Horner’s but it could equally be something else, as mine was. It’s a case of excluding conditions but hopefully the tests you’ve had will give you an answer soon.

Could it be Myasthenia gravis?

@Pushkinia thanks for replying.
I had the drops to test for Horners and although they suspected it, have not confirmed a diagnosis.
The left pupil is slightly smaller then the right, but they don't know whether it's always been a bit smaller or just because I've got this droopy lid.

I've had an MRI on brain and CT in chest and neck area. I gave a slightly overactive thyroid but not Graves' disease. Bloods haven't revealed anything untoward.

The lid feels a bit achy and I'm very tired at the moment ( don't sleep well due to pain from nerve damage in my arm!)

Myasthenia Gravis hasn't been mentioned, but will ask at my follow up appointment.

It's stressing me out a bit as when I left the hospital on Tuesday, that nurse said she couldn't see a ptosis, but I can!

My DD has this, I’m not sure if it’s relevant though as hers was caused by nerve damage during surgery after having her carotid artery removed due to a tumour.

For what it’s worth, her eye isn’t as noticeable as it was now she is 4 years on from the surgery. It’s worse when she is tired and I think we have all got used to it so its not so immediately apparent.

Well the droopy lid is still present, 2 months on. I've had the main tests and scans and although they suspect Horners, are adamant there is no cause. I've got nerve pain in one arm and am worried sick that there is a connection between the two!
