Sore vulva… :(

Sorry if TMI…
The pain feels like paper cuts/stinging/burning, it comes and goes and started the first cycle after I had covid in early Sept. My cycle has changed massively since the virus.
The first gynae I saw said vulva looked totally normal so likely hormonal. The second said he could see a couple of red/inflamed patches and didn’t think hormonal.
I’ve been given steroid creams which only make it feel more sore.
I’ve been told to go back in a month but have very bad health anxiety and am keen to know if anyone has experienced similiar?
Thank you! X

Give these two conditions a quick read and see what you think. They can be associated with a lowered immune system.

Vulval Lichen Sclerosis
Vulval Lichen Planus.

Check if your skin isn't allergic (maybe patch test on your hand) but try lansinoh nipple cream to help soothe and hydrate.
It's lanolin and can permeate several layers of skin to make it feel less sandpaper like.
I use it on my under eyes

Thank you- I’ve actually been symptom free for 3 weeks now. Im on a combi cream (antibiotic, antifungal and steroid) which i took for 1 week and then once a week for 2 weeks.
I found that sex made things worse, so we havent had sex for 3 weeks either.
Im seeing my doctor in early Jan for a follow up, and will see what he says.
intrigued to see if having sex brings it back… it did feel a lot like thrush but no antifungals worked.

Sometimes reduced oestrogen can cause those symptoms. I get it due to being post menopause, but it can be an issue from peri-menopause. I am prescribed Vagifem pessaries, but they don’t solve it. Add in a vulva moisturiser (there are several out there) used daily and all is well.
