I'm worried about this

Hello. I'm 22 I have really bad anxiety, I have been through a lot the passed 2 months, and at the moment I've been having this a while on and off but I have a lot of brain fog, forgetfulness, headaches, saying things and not remembering what, and more. I have really bad health anxiety and obviously I'm terrified it's a brain tumour or something. I'm considering ringing the doctors about it as I am worried, everyone else is saying we all get this sometimes but I don't know. Also certain writing I see double of now and again. Anyone else's has this and it just be anxiety or anything not so scary? Thanks

Hi
Its most likely not a brain tumor. Its your anxiety acting up. Mine does too. I use the DARE app and it is superb. Try it.

Those are symptoms of anxiety

KangarooKenny · 26/11/2022 21:43

Yes, you should ring the GP. Have you ever tried antidepressants ?

Lcb123 · 26/11/2022 21:44

That sounds like anxiety symptoms - do speak to your GP though. In my area you can self refer for mental health services like online CBT course

Absolutely this.

Your anxiety is, as you know, causing you to think the worst. Your gp will be able to reassure you and will also be able to help with your anxiety.

Brain fog, forgetfulness, headaches = classic anxiety/stress. It'll get better as your system settles down.

Mind is a really good website for helping you understand how you're mh impacts you:

You may have a hormonal imbalance.

Thankyou for all the replies, makes me feel a lot better, I've suffered with anxiety for years I take propranolol, it's only a small dose, I also get like phantom smells, feeling off balance and stuff I do realise that is only when I'm anxious or comes just before I feel anxious. It's hard work it does calm down but recently it set me off because I was out with my friends I was texting someone n I was like in a proper text mode like focusing just on my phone and I apparently said something weird? I didn't even know I said anything, but I was proper hyper focused on texting at the time I'm not sure maybe I'm over thinking it.

It might help to build up your anti-anxiety toolkit, op.

I use an aromatherapy roll on - tisserand do great ones, inexpense and the scent lasts much much longer than neals yard. I use it for grounding but if you get phantom smells it might help? The calm app is good and if you get sensitive to noise then something like the loop ear plugs might help.

Your gp might be happy to increase - or tweak - your prescription too.

Have you tried meditation?

Shouldershoddy · 26/11/2022 23:03

I have a child similar age to you. My son definitely worries more than I did at his age and my other children sadly are more anxious than they should be .
It’s also fair to say that I ,at my age worry more than I used to …it’s the rubbish world that we live in 😞Really try and concentrate your thoughts on positive vibes.X

Thankyou for replying, it's hard work trying to find the right thing, I'll have to look into it thankyou for that, I don't really have time for meditation but I think I might start making time for it giving it a go, I have breathing exercises I do which help, and yes i agree think I need to see about a new medication as I've been on this one for 6 years, the symptoms are so close to symptoms for something sinister, I hope the phantom smells are anxiety symptoms too. I got worse after having covid I used to control my anxiety quite well, it's horrid tho wouldn't wish it on anyone
