Do I bother the GP with this, lump in breast

I've got this small pea sized hard lump in my left breast. Had it for two weeks ish, was red and is now white looking, but not like a spot. I can move it around, it's not tender but behind my nipple is tender if pressed. Noticed this when my kitten stood on my boobs!

I'm 53, on HRT patches and have been for 6 years after a hysterectomy. I had a mammogram last year, which was fine.

I need to go to my GP don't I, but I don't want them to think I'm wasting their time. Pic of the lump below!

Of course you should go to the GP that’s what they’re there for I’m shocked that you’d rather post an picture on mumsnet than get a potential cancer symptom checked out by a doctor. It’s unbelievable

Go. Saves time now if you want to be very practical.about it

Rosaofthevalley · 22/11/2022 00:05

Yes always. It doesn’t take long to get it all checked and it’s much better than leaving it and wondering what if

I don’t want to worry you, most lumps are benign but you must go to your GP. I’m 37 and mine was breast cancer. It was already in my lymph nodes and I’d only just felt something. Best to get it checked, as they cheerfully said to me when they expected to find nothing: “it’s always lovely when we check a lump and it’s not anything sinister”.

@Orangesatsuma How about a bit of empathy! It's midnight, I was just after advice, not your harsh comments 🥺

OP, don't take previous comments to heart, let it slide past.
Go and get yourself checked lovely. I know you may feel like you're potentially wasting their time, I've been there myself.. but it's better to be safe than sorry, and you'll more than likely find they would be glad to see you and check you over anyway. Xx

Don’t worry about wasting anyones time, it’s always best to get it checked out. It’s most likely to be nothing but it’ll put your mind at rest getting it looked at. I know how anxious health worried can make you

I’m a GP. This won’t be bothering your GP, it’s exactly what they’re there for and they’ll be more than happy to see you. Get an appointment booked and get it checked - hopefully all ok but that’s what needs to happen.
