Post Covid crap or something else?

Had a really bad run of luck health wise recently and starting to worry something else going on. Hoping someone here can give me the right questions to ask dr and possibly some reassurance as frankly I'm starting to go to worst case scenarios in my head! (I have ocd too, but not health phobia usually)

I'm 50, fat, but don't have the usual issues with being fat (blood sugars, bp, cholesterol are all fine), relevant/main medical history includes asthma, endo, crappy sinuses (all my life), prone to tonsillitis, was in a bad car accident almost 17 years ago which I believe has caused some problems and I've had covid twice, once before vaccination and once since vaccination. My next lot are due in next couple weeks I get Covid flu and pneumonia aa the asthma can be bad.

In last month or so I've had colds, tonsillitis, sinusitis, endo playing me up, joints are sore, toothache/teeth falling apart, ibs playing up, headaches and loss of libido (though that may just be cos I'm feeling crap!

I'm so bloody fed up of being ill all the time, I'm starting to feel better from one thing and then another bloody thing starts!

I was eating crisps earlier tonight and half of one of my teeth fell out!

Dr google is not helping though I can't resist and I just wanted to talk to someone about this without worrying my family until I can hopefully speak to gp surgery tomorrow.

I'm honestly imagining all sorts and it's driving me nuts! I'm a former hcp myself but I worked in elderly care and well before Covid plus knowledge changes over the years.

I know it's probably something minor/easily treatable but I can't help worrying.

Sounds like a few possible things and the menopause springs to mind. Let us know what the GP says.

Graphista · 25/11/2022 22:31

Saw nurse today and she's thinking allergy reactions flare up as in my immune system in overdrive if anything, that what I thought were colds are allergies.

We can't think what's triggered this.

Anyone else had this post Covid or in relation to meno or can think of another root cause?

I haven't changed any products I use because I am so sensitive, all I can think is maybe something environmental?

Need to get to bottom of this as it's driving me crackers!

Given your age, it's most likely menopause related. Talk to your GP.

LiveintheNow · 26/11/2022 08:01

If you have IBS have you been tested for coeliac? Also check B12 and thyroid, any autoimmune disease in the family history?

Graphista · 26/11/2022 12:45

@HundredMilesAnHour in talks with gp to try & identify cause I'll mention meno do you have anything in particular in mind?

@LiveintheNow I've been tested for coeliac many years ago tests came back negative. I have noticed if I eat pizza or have a bread heavy day I have diarrhoea & cramps next day, I'm not over familiar with the condition could it also lead to inflammatory response elsewhere?

Now my ear piercings are playing up too! Just the most bizarre collection of symptoms which I am aware may not necessarily be connected.

Thanks for the replies feeling a bit "swinging in the wind" here with few replies.

Coeliac is autoimmune and often linked to type 1 diabetes and hypothyroidism (hashimotos). Where there is one autoimmune disease you often find another!

Graphista · 26/11/2022 16:08

Yes meant to inc history of thyroid and autoimmune issues in the family often dx very late

I have coeliac disease and pre diagnosis was much more ill with colds and flu, chest infections etc. also mouth ulcers and general fatigue. I take Vit D and get B12 injections now too as there are often underlying deficiencies due to inability to absorb nutrients because of damage to intestines.

Have you had thyroid blood tests done?

Graphista · 28/11/2022 15:29

Yes I've had thyroid bloods taken but some years ago now and all came back in "normal range" but I had to push to get the actual numbers which is ridiculous.

Several female relatives have had similar experience eventually thyroid tests came back there was something wrong, they were treated and the health issues they'd experienced for decades massively improved
