Could this be a UTI?

I don't have much experience with UTIs. I had one once and it was unmistakable.

The past week I've had a strange sensation in my urethra, not like having to go pee, but sort of like that, if that makes sense. But no pain, burning, urgency, frequency. Could this still be a UTI?

I'm going to take cranberry but I can't see the doctor for a few days as I've just started my period, so can't take a dipstick test anyway.

Could possibly be yeah.
Have you ever had cystitis? Which is a common UTI.
Sometimes I get burning sensation with it, other times I just feel like I need to wee constantly. Even if you can't do a urine test it may be worth just having a chat with a gp if it doesn't ease before the end of your period x

When I had one I had a funny sensation as my bladder emptied, then after a few days I got loin pain. It’s only then I realised I had a UTI.

It could be an early UTI. Try cystitis granules from the supermarket (taste a bit grim but do the job)

Yes take cystitis meds and drink cranberry. I once, years ago, left one and it ended up becoming a kidney infection and was very painful. Hope you feel better soon.

I didn't know cystitis and UTI weren't interchangeable terms. :-) I'm not very experienced with these, lucky me.

Thanks all. I took some garlic and cranberry, among other things, and it is feeling a lot better 12 hours later. I've just got hold of some of the granules, so will do that too.

I'm not very experienced with UTIs so have managed to get a weekend appointment to talk to the doctor. Hopefully they can just go off my description, though I really don't want to have to take antibiotics if I can help it. Will see what he says.

Just to update, I've been given Keflex. I'm a bit worried about taking the medication and not actually having a UTI, but I guess I'll see if it makes a difference soon.
