They're kind of like a head rush, like when you stand up to fast but they're happened when I've been stood up a while or walking.

starting to freak me out now

How long have you been getting dizzy spells?

jalopy · 30/01/2008 16:04

Perhaps low blood pressure or low blood sugar level. Are you drinking and eating enough?

ladytophamhatt · 30/01/2008 16:04

only about 3 days but I get them quite alot....

Are you eating and sleeping enough? Are you getting over a cold or anything?

SaltireOShanter · 30/01/2008 16:05

Or an ear infection. Thinking about it though, DH had similar dizzy spells for a while and his doctor gave him Sudafed, which seems to have helped

MegaLegs · 30/01/2008 16:05

Could be vertigo or labrinthitis (sp?) Have you had a cold recently. I had this, it's an inflamation in the middle ear - makes you feel very weird, dizzy and sometimes sick. Is it worse when you stop moving, or lie down?

ladytophamhatt · 30/01/2008 16:05

prob not drinking enough, I never do, I can literally go days without having a cold drink!!

Are you in the habit of standing on a spinning roundabout?

ladytophamhatt · 30/01/2008 16:06

Not had a cold but the other day I did go deaf in one ear for a while.....

Try increasing your fluid intake. How much do you think you drink a day?

WingsofanAngel · 30/01/2008 16:07

I sometimes get something similar I went to GP and he said it was to do with a nerve in my neck. It sometimes happens when I look up.

Get GP to check your blood pressure.

SaltireOShanter · 30/01/2008 16:07

Dh's was started by a cold and that's why his GP gave him Sudafed, as he said his tubes in his ears and nasal passages were blocked and this would help

MegaLegs · 30/01/2008 16:10

labyrinthitis

ladytophamhatt · 30/01/2008 16:11

Hmmm, not that I recall soupy

Jalopy, I prob drink about 2-3 cups atea a day. sometimes a glass of juice at dinner but not always, I'm terrible for not drinking enough.

wings, I've had that before too and the Doc said the same about the nerve but these dizzy spells feel differnet.

Actually, Mega that does sound right because I've had a bit of a headache too but would there be pain in my ear aswell?
because I haven't had any...

Lth, you definitely need to drink more. Not saying that's the reason for your dizziness but it would certainly be contributing to the problem. Drink much more and see if it makes a difference tomorrow.

MegaLegs · 30/01/2008 16:17

I didn't have any pain in my ears but I had, had a long bout of blocked sinus, the labrythingyitis followed on from that. GP lookes in my ears and said was inflamed but it didn't hurt at all

SaltireOShanter · 30/01/2008 16:17

Mega - that link you provided describes exactly the symptoms DS1 had today!

MegaLegs · 30/01/2008 16:19

Oh dear poor thing. It feels a bit like you are walking on a bobbing boat.

ladytophamhatt · 31/01/2008 17:40

no dizzy spells today and I've made abig effort to drink more so I think its probably that.

I've been diagnosed with meniere's disease which causes dizzy spells (it's horrible when I get an attack) - part of the treatment though is restricting the amount I drink as it's caused by a build-up of fluid in the inner ear, so if it's that, drinking more might make it worse

Beauregard · 31/01/2008 23:14

My sinuses do that to me.

Sympathy LTH
