Been having problems with my scalp for some long. A dermatologist said it looked like seborrheic dermatitis and suggested a selenium sulfide shampoo by vichy decros . It initially took a while to notice any difference but it did . I was down to using it maybe once every 1-2 weeks .
I managed to let it get out of control again and had a few areas that I could feel thick flakes that when picked off left weepy red scalp underneath . Started using the shampoo more regularly again .. and although all the thick flakes that weep have gone .. it now looks like I have a dry scalp with small flakes . So I don't know what to do anymore .. as if I don't use the shampoo it's worse ... but is the shampoo make my scalp dry 😫. Luckily it doesn't itch . Any recommendations?

I use Head and Shoulders and it works wonders on my head. If I use any other shampoo my scalp hurts so much and goes flaky and horrible. HOWEVER I do think when you start using Head and Shoulders you can never stop using it as it does feel worse if you use a different shampoo. I'm just sticking with it though 🤷‍♀️

Try Niazarol shampoo- it’s specifically for Seb derm - you can get it on prescription or over the counter. The active ingredient is ketoconazole, this is really affective at combating the flakes/ scales. I have seb derm and I have found that what works for one might not necessarily work for me it is trial and error.
Also a good conditioner is essential, I find the Body Shop Ginger conditioner is good as is Head & Shoulders.
