Should I go to the doctor about this?

For about the last week or so, I’ve noticed I have a kind of wheezing/rumble in my chest. It’s most noticeable first thing in the morning, but does sometimes reappear at other times. I have a bit of a cough but nothing dramatic. No other symptoms that I can discern: no shortness of breath, pain, dizziness etc. When I exercise I don’t notice any difference in performance. Is this worth making a GP appointment for, if it persists? What could it be? I feel like if it was a chest infection or similar, I’d have more symptoms and more generally feel unwell in myself. But I’m mostly ok, occasionally coughing, but with this wheezy/rumbly sound.

Sounds like bronchitis, I’d say if you feel otherwise well, try steaming and leave it another 2 weeks. Then make an appointment.

Thanks @GoldIsMyChosenMetal. I have a humidifier, I should maybe try running that on a
low setting overnight, since it seems most acute in the morning. Will try steaming as well.

Any cough lasting longer than 3 weeks should be checked by a GP. So if it hasn't cleared by then speak to your GP.

Do you have asthma?

@PinkButtercups not as far as I know, no. Thanks for the three-week pointer, I’ll keep that in mind.
