I was wondering if anybody else had this problem. I had my first baby about 7 months ago and started to have pain just below my bellybutton...kind of pinching. Yesterday it was on lower right side and I thought it might be cramp as I haven't had my period yet (couldn't sleep..took painkillers to go to sleep). It went away in the morning but tonight I'm having bit of pressure there again...pinching pain so a bit nervous. My dh says that's where his hernia is...and says it could be hernia. I stopped breastfeeding when dd was 6 months and haven't had my period. Did anybody have anything similar to this after giving birth? I don't want to go to doctor just because I have bit of cramp..as I am hypochondriac.

Do you mean the pain has been there since your baby was born 7 months ago or is a more recent thing?

Go to see the Dr in the morning, better to get seen and find out its nothing eh

It has started very recently. Maybe about a week or so.

Kandymouse you need to go and see Dr about this. if it started recently I would not think it is likely to be connected the birth of your baby 7 months ago. You are not a hypochondriac -this is a valid reason to see a Dr. Significant causes of pain on your lower right side of tummy need to be ruled out, to name a few I can think of your appendix is on lower right tummy, ectopic pregnancy could give this pain or possibly urine infection. If it turns out to be nothing -as hopefully it will- there is nothing lost by going to Dr and everyone is reassured.
Keep us posted about how you get on, wishing you the best.
