Could this be Vestibular Migraines?

I’ll try and keep it as short as poss:

Always had migraines with aura as a teen, they then disappeared and I hadn’t had one for about ten years.

Had a baby about three months ago and started getting them again - thought it was my hormones readjusting.

About six weeks ago I started with some light vertigo, diagnosed by doctor as Vestibular Labrynthitis.

it’s gotten worse to the point where I have bad vertigo attacks every few days and end up with a bad headache after.

Today I decided to try taking a Sumatriptan when it hit and it disappeared within half an hour but I still feel a bit groggy.

Could this be Vestibular Migraines?

Yes definitely. It's a very misunderstood area. It's also possible to have a vertigo inducing illness like labyrthitis or bbpv which then turns into migraine. If sumatriptan has worked than its definitely a migraine!

I’ve been diagnosed with vestibular migraines (had them since a teenager and now I’m forties) but I tend to wake up with vertigo so bad I have to lie still I’m bed for around six hours until it passes (sometimes medication helps but not always). I don’t get a headache at all but at other times get big standard migraines (much more frequently). When an episode happens I feel a bit dizzy for a few days and then normal again (although my normal is to always feel a bit dizzy). I don’t get anymore vertigo after the initial episode though.
have you had covid recently as that can cause the symptoms you describe.

you could look into your diet and see if there is any correlation with high histamine foods. My vm trigger seems to be cooked meat which has been in the fridge for too long.

Thank you both!

Not had covid that I am aware of - it just seems odd that it comes and goes, I.e. knocks me out for two days, then I’m fine for two or three then I seem to have another attack 🤔
