My dad is ringing the doctors anyway but he's not particularly good at explaining/advocating for himself
My mum died a few months ago so understandably his mental health took a hit
He is generally fit and well, no medication, had previous blood transfusions due to anaemia. Recent bloods normal, his sugars drop very quickly (not diabetic, he's always been like this since a teenager and so am I)

Symptoms - he's exhausted, breathless, gained weight around his middle despite not eating much and gets very shaky when he's doing stuff. So if he's say putting a shelf up, he shakes/trembles and it resolves once he's had a sit down and some food/sugar. In his words "I just don't feel myself" and the breathlessness is new. He coughed up "black stuff" this morning

Any bright ideas as to what it could be? He's been to the GP before and I think they're just seeing an elderly man but he has no health issues at all and rarely gets unwell

No idea what it could be, but I do think he needs to see a GP, and perhaps it would help if you go with him for moral support, and to advocate if necessary. He will be less likely to get fobbed off if you are there too.

He has said he's going to ring them Monday so I will pester him and make sure he does!
I can't go with him unfortunately as I work FT and have no annual leave left to take

Is it worth asking for time off anyway? If you look at the gov. website there is a section regarding time off for family and dependents, which includes parents.
