Anybody else? I'm so fed up of this condition now! I'm sick of using a nose peg to eat a meal, my cooking skills have gone down the drain too, everything tastes absolutely disgusting and I really miss my favourite smells especially with Christmas coming up. I've had this since August 2021 and there doesn't seem to be any help resolving this. I feel so depressed as eating and cooking for my family was a big part of my life.

I feel your pain. Had covid in September 2021 and haven’t being able to smell normally since. It’s absolutely horrible.I can still taste pretty much ok though. My doctor has referred me To the long covid clinic, hoping they might have a miracle help.

It's awful isn't it, it's a smell and taste that I can't even explain. Meat is the worst by far and anything strawberry flavoured, it's vile! Hopefully the long covid clinic can help you! I think I'll ask my GP about that at my next appointment

I'm 18 months in with parosmia. Things are slowly getting better but I still can't go near anything with garlic, onion, nuts or strawberries 😭

And there isn't any cure for it I'm afraid. I was referred privately to a professor who basically said they don't know enough about it to be able to help. Had some steroids that did nothing, smell training made me heave, so it's been a case of ride it out

Onions and garlic is a big no for me too! The only light for me so far has been that some foods are tolerable.. not nice!! Just tolerable! Does anyone know if this actually gets better and our smell and taste does eventually go back to normal? I feel like in forgetting what things smell and taste like

There is light at the end of the tunnel to an extent. I spent a year living on pasta, cheese and jacket potatoes but now I'm slowly able to manage more. The professor I saw did say that they don't know if it go back to normal, but either way it will take time.
