Really bad breath in the morning

I generally wake up with really bad breath in the morning 😓

I go to the dentist, brush my teeth, my diet is fine, I don't have medical conditions.

Have you suffered from this and did something that improved it?

Thanks!

I thought everyone did. It’s worse if you’ve been drinking.

I think morning breath is worse if you're a mouth-breather. Does your nose get bunged up during the night?

Zero alcohol 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not really but I think I snore sometimes. It has crossed my mind to try the tape trick 😆

Daily flossing. Game changer.
Also tongue scraping.

Everyone has bad breath in the morning do they not?

Use a tongue scraper...
The gunk collected on the tongue is the culprit...

Hygienist here.
100 per cent your oral hygiene will be the reason.

floss daily , interproximal plaque ( plaque between your teeth) is the smelliest . Make sure you floss or use Tepe type brushes as well as brush everyday. If you haven’t flossed for a day or so, do it before you brush and have a sniff.

brushing , check your routine , you may be under brushing , 2 mins feels like bloody ages when brushing so if you are not using a timer you will be under brushing more than likely . Make sure you are not missing an area repeatedly , day in day out . Lots of people do . Inside surfaces at the lower back are commonly missed , as are outside surfaces top back .

Yes to tongue scraper - metal ones work better than plastic.

Do not bother with mouth wash or water jets. Both do almost nothing when it comes to removing plaque.

There could well be other causes of bad breathe , including health conditions, dehydration , mouth breathing etc but if you get rid of plaque you will minimise these effects to almost zero . You really can’t have genuine halitosis without plaque .

Brush your tongue!

Could you be lactose intolerant? DD used to have foul breath and this was the cause.

Dontsayyouloveme · 02/11/2022 01:43

Again, tongue scraper!

Tonsil stones. They're grim. Google them.
