Hand/foot/mouth disease or something else?

I think I might have this from having a google.
Started with sore throat, fever and aches on Thursday and yesterday started coming out with painful sores and red spots on my hands, feet and an ulcer in my mouth.

Anyone had it? Do I need to see a gp to confirm? Assume I cant leave the house.

My toddler had a cold last week but getting better and my dp is feeling a sore throat and aches now too.

That's what I used to Google. Looking for other people's experiences, like is it common, do I need to be confirmed by gp. Do I need to keep my child off nursery.

Did you read the page? All the answers are on there.
it’s common, only see GP if unwell, stay off school if unwell, good hand hygiene

I caught it from my daughter and sounds like what we had. I believe it's most contagious before spots appear but they ask you to stay off work or school while you're unwell, but the NHS have clear guidelines

What's classed as unwell though? I'm feeling better in myself. And they're not blistering, or will it take a few days to blister?
So can I still go out if I have red spots?

The NHS isn't much more helpful to be honest, but I think if you feel normal and healthy and just have spots still then you're fine to go out and about.. but it is a bit vague I agree!

If you don't have a temperature i think it's fine to go out. You don't need it confirmed by a GP and you don't need to keep DC off nursery.

It's relatively unusual to get it as an adult as most people have already had it as a child, and normally you only get it once. I caught it off my niece as an adult and it wasn't much fun at all!

Thankyou. I don't think it's very helpful either and all advice points to being in children.

Me and dp's work have told us to wfh for now but my dp's work have asked him to go to the gp to get confirmation which I don't think he will get.

It does seem strange we've got it but we spent last Saturday pumpkin picking and I wonder if it's been picked up there!
