Will chest infection clear away on its own?

Two weeks ago I went away on a cruise holiday. On the first day of the holiday on the ship and also on land with a tour, I noticed something. There was a lot of people coughing. I noticed there was very little manners as in germs weren't contained by some people. People generally coughed into the faces of other people walking or sitting near by. The coughs were productive and coming from the chest.
I knew I was going to get off that ship St the end of the holiday sick.

On day number 5 I came down with a slight cough. I also found a fever. I was doing the home covid tests for the past week but it was all negative.

My infection whatever it is, is completely mild. It doesn't even feel like a cold. There's no headache or sore throat. There's a little bit of phelym at the back of the throat. There's a very slight cough that is nothing. There is some wheeze when I lie down at night. That's it.

I was doing covid tests all week but it was negative. I am back home and back to my normal schedule and back working. I am wearing masks.

One of my close contacts, came down with fever and cough and its pneumonia.

Naturally I am thinking if I was the possible exposure for her. I know its impossible to say.

My dose is very mild but I have a question. Should I be going to the doctor at this stage. My fever is gone now too. I haven't experienced fever in over a week by the way.

I'm just wondering if I should be going to the doctor. I feel reasonably well but tired easily this week.

I wouldn't go the Dr and take an appointment unless you feel that you can't manage it at home.

It sounds mild and going in the right direction - not sure what a Dr could do at this stage?

Hope you're feeling better soon

No, I wouldn't go to the dr for a mild cough. Take over the counter cough medicine or drink honey and lemon. It should clear on its own.

You know pneumonia can be caused by all kinds of bacteria, viruses and fungi? Not everyone who gets the same infection will develop the same symptoms.
Pneumonia is usually a secondary complication for someone who is more susceptible to it.

Get some fresh thyme and make a tea. Let it brew for a bit and drink.
Excellent for chest infections.

Thanks
I don't have thyme but I am taking oregano and allicin which is usually enough but not this time

texting a neighbour who tells me half the building is down with it. She got me some stuff from Aldi but got her to leave it by my door as I don't want her getting it too.

The 7 people I know (related to or through work) with coughs after cruising were all Covid. One tested negative for a long time then her husband tested positive and she did 2 days later.
2 aunts& uncles were really poorly with Covid after their (separate) cruises. A couple of colleagues (again, different cruises) were really poorly & one woman & her husband were just suffering a bit with headache & coughs.

Of course it could just be a random chest infection but I wouldn’t go to the Dr at this stage, the worst has passed by the sounds of it.
