DD (11 months) has had an increasingly bad cold this week. Friday she didn't have any tea, but did have bedtime milk; yesterday she ate a minute amount, which was later sicked up but she also startwd refusing water and milk - any she did have came back. So by last night she hadn't really had any food or fluid kept down for the day. Overnight she had about 12oz water and then at 5am had 5oz milk; all this she had willingly and kept it down. But today she's had no more than a couple of sips of water. Since 8am she's only slept for abput an hour in total, always on me or in her pram, is restless, not crying but not herself by any means. I'm more worried about her lack of fluid intake than food, but how long is too long to be like this? I don't think she's got a tummy bug, but maybe the sick is a reaction to the mucus in her throat??

Most of what you have said is spot on.

Mucous in throat can make you sick, but could be a bug - no real way of telling I don't tihnk.

Not to worry about food for a few days.

Fluids are more of a concern but 20oz in 12hrs sounds a lot better than my kids have done in 24hrs when ill - althoug would obv be a bit better spread over 24hrs.

Signs of dehydration include nappies and the inside of the mouth getting dry

Obviously if you are worrued about her in general give NHS a call.
