Seborrheic Dermatitis

I have suffered with seborrheic dermatitis for several years. It’s always worse in the autumn/winter although this year it flared up in the summer when it was very hot. I cannot get it under control on my face. It’s getting worse by the day. Can anyone recommend any treatments? I’m using nizarol shampoo on my scalp and also using it to wash my eyebrows - as the SD is particularly bad in that area. It’s growing on my eye lid though and I don’t know what to use on there. So fed up of it.

I was prescribed Nizarol, used it for years but I was never really happy with the results. My dr prescribed Dandrazol 2% shampoo and it’s brilliant. I’m also prescribed Dakatcort ointment for my eyebrows and nasal folds.
hope this helps!

See if your gp will prescribe Soolantra off label - although it is usually prescribed for rosacea it can help with seborrheic dermatitis

My husband has success with Canesten on bad days and coconut oil on normal days.

I have SD on scalp and vaginally. I have had a lot of success with MCT oil (it has antifungal properties). You have to get one that's 100% caprylic acid for the antifungal benefits.

I use this one...

Ketosource® Premium Pure C8 MCT Oil | Boosts Ketones 3X More Than Other MCTs | Highest 99.8% Purity | Supports Keto Nutrition & Fasting | 100% Coconut Sourced | BPA-Free 1000ml Plastic Bottle amzn.eu/d/cYt2Mfw

It's a bit of a faff to get on your scalp tbh but would be easy to apply to eyebrows and eyelid and obviously super gentle so ok for eyelid area.

I got the idea from this website which has loads of fantastic information and product suggestions for getting rid of fungal skin conditions:

simpleskincarescience.com/pityrosporum-folliculitis-treatment-malassezia-cure/

Well worth a read.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the responses. I am trying to get an appointment with my GP but as it’s not an urgent matter I have to wait for them to contact me after submitting an online form and photo of my problem!

@Katyawampus I also suffer from rosacea so that may kill two birds with one stone!

I use Neutrogena T Gel. It usually clears up after two washes with this over the course of a few days.
