Greasy Hair After Chemo

I had breast cancer last year and had chemo and targeted therapy. My hair has slowly been growing back and I now have a long pixie cut. Before o lost my hair I had to wash it every other day due to greasiness (and nothing helped prolong this).
Until very recently I only needed to wash my 'new' hair once a week (which was amazing) but suddenly it seems I can only go two days before it's greasy.
Does anyone know why this might be and how I can stop returning to how I used to have to look after my hair?

There's a way you can train your hair to go longer between washes-it involves leaving it longer between so you'll be greasy for a few days. Dry shampoo should help on those greasy days.

Is your hair getting enough moisture? Mine gets greasy when dry, maybe try a new conditioner or hair treatment or an oil to restore any moisture, even if it's just to rule that out

Thank you.

Hair isn't dry at all. It is fine but I have a lot of it. I've been using a conditioning shampoo and actually changed last week as I wondered if that was the problem.

I do use dry shampoo but I hate the feeling of my hair after.

My husband seems to think it's because it's getting longer again but I don't see why that would affect it so much.

So annoying as I was loving not having to wash it so much!

When my hair grew back after chemo it bore no resemblence to my old hair. It was wavy and courser and dry. Loved it actually! Unfortunately by 9 months it had reverted to pre- chemo straight, fine and greasy.

I do force myself to wash it as little as possible as I also have very itchy scalp and frequent washing makes it worse.

I'm in a similar situation. Pre-chemo (which finished last year) my hair was greasy and needed washing every day. Since it's grown back, it's been curly and not at all greasy and I've been loving not having to wash it all the time. I've noticed very recently though that the texture is feeling more like my old texture so perhaps mine is reverting to type as well? As an added complication, the chemo put me into menopause so I'm not sure how much of the change in hair is linked to that.

Thanks everyone. I guess it's just reverting to type then (sadly) - chemo finished just over a year ago. It was so lovely not getting greasy so quickly!
