I’m just not sure if I’m above or behind where I should be

Knee is still quite swollen and skin at times feels very tight and restrictive of movement

But I can bend knee now to 90/95 degrees (painful but slowly getting easier) and doing this four times a day, bending it four to five times. Physios said you need to be grimacing when doing it but not screaming - exact words

I’m trying to sit some of the time now with knees bent to where I’m comfortable. But still majority of time I’m elevating them on a footstool with extra pillows so they are straight

Not using crutches in house now or going up or down stairs at home

Walking I’m now doing 2/3 walks a day, v short but gradually extending distance. I’ve now got to walk with right (operated leg) and left crutch, left leg and right crutch. I’ve got the hang of this BUT this is my worry

I’m not bending my knee really when walking, still feels like I’ve got a very straight leg although physios said there was some slight bend which was good

I’m just worrying there should be more bend but is it too soon??

I can stand on left leg and light right leg up now and slightly bend it

Thanks for any replies, it’s so hard not knowing where I should be at this stage

I’ve also got fibromyalgia so having to factor that in. I’m having a bad day today but scared not to do physio as don’t want to push myself back but I’ve had to wind things in a bit today

You can't walk it better.

The absolute first goal is range of movement. Everything else is secondary, once the scar tissue matures, that's pretty much it for movement.

Plan your exercise sessions, take painkillers before if you need to, use a warm pat bag or similar to relax the tissues before you start, really focus. On the flexion extension and quads exercises. Use a cool pack after you're done to limit the swelling.

Repeat as many times as you can bear.
