When to worry about breast changes?

For context I do think I may have slight health anxiety- I don't go as far as going to the doctors/A&E but I can fixate on small symptoms and maybe make them seem worse. I also have breast implants. I am 28, fit and healthy (as far as I know!)

3 weeks ago I noticed a small light patch on my left nipple, it's isn't raised or flaky. This going to be a very silly description but the only thing I can liken it to is in my younger days of wearing false tan and getting a spot of water on my skin, that's what it looks and feels like, above the patch the edge of my nipple seems darker than usual, however my breasts seem pretty veiny and it does look like this might be caused by a vein.

My left breast feels hot (not all of the time) and feels a bit swollen, it's almost like my veins are more prominent because of this- both of these symptoms could be a case of me taking more notice since noticing the patch. I cannot feel any lumps in my breast but it is difficult to feel around the implant.

Does this seem like something to be worried about? Does it warrant a GP appointment maybe? I don't feel unwell at all, maybe a little tired but I have increased my hours at work so that makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

I think any breast changes warrant a same day gp appointment. I had this recently with one of my nipples being almost black whilst the other was a normal pink colour. The gp did a thorough examination and said it was down to hormones. She made it clear that if your ring up and say you have noticed a breast change you will always be seen same day.
This is exactly what gps are for and if they have any concerns will refer you to a clinic to be seen within two weeks. Again this doesn’t mean you have anything to worry about but will be to rule out anything serious.
Let us know how you get on.

Thank you @DeeofDenmark I'll ring on Monday morning for an appointment, I think I just needed someone to tell me I am not wasting time by getting this checked out! Thank you again Smile

Agree it's always better to be checked out. I've had four referrals to the breast clinic - one was a fatty lump and the others were nothing to worry about, but that's what they're there for. Your own GP will do their own examination, then the referral is made - my GP said for my own peace of mind as I suffer with health anxiety. Always worth making that appointment, OP

X post with @daisydoods thank you too! It's strange isn't it there are always messages saying to get any breast changes checked out but then you doubt yourself.

You are never wasting time getting changes checked out. It's vital and sensible. I've had breast cancer.

You really do! I think too if you feel there's something, you don't want to admit that it needs checking because it makes it seem real.
It's not until I started checking mine regularly that I realised just how lumpy they actually are!
