Spot/sore on boob and itchy nipple (pic included)

Sorry not a pretty sight! Any advice welcome

I've had this spot/sore, bite? on my boob for nearly 2 weeks. I thought at first it would go down eventually but hasn't and I'm starting to worry a little now. The skin is peeling. It doesn't hurt to touch or anything but around the nipple on the same boob has been itchy too. I was going to call the GP tomorrow and ask for an appointment but am I overreacting? Would you just leave it? I keep thinking of the worst scenario.

Not saying it is or isn't anything by serious (I have no idea!) but just wanted to say - call your GP. It's not an overreaction and in my experience they take breast changes seriously even if they don't think it is anything to worry about.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/10/2022 18:47

Have you tried the obvious and used sudo creme / savlon/ TCP? I do that first for a couple of days then see the GP if it doesn't start to get better.

Newpuppymummy · 12/10/2022 18:51

I’ve had similar things and they’ve gone away but if you’re worried call them GP

Coldernights · 12/10/2022 18:53

@SpamIAm thank you, good to know they take it seriously.

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor no I haven't put anything on it yet (don't think I even have any sudo creme etc here actually). I thought it was a spot at first and I normally leave them to go down by themselves but this one hasn't.

@Coldernights

its a spot isn’t it?

Coldernights · 12/10/2022 19:04

I'm not sure what it is @Worriedaboutethics
Just guessing. I can't see pus or anything, it's just red and the skin is peeling

Nelson's tea tree cream. Also use it on nipple (it's great for thrush). Change your bra. All will be well.

TheFormidableMrsC · 12/10/2022 19:07

It doesn't matter what it is. It needs checking out. Please don't leave anything to do with your boobs. Better safe than sorry. BC survivor here.

TheFormidableMrsC · 12/10/2022 19:09

Also it's really really bad advice to say just put some cream on it. An itchy nipple that hasn't settled down in 2 weeks needs checking too.

CosyDarkNights · 12/10/2022 19:12

I'd go get it checked ASAP, probably nothing but I know someone who had a little sore/scab that wouldn't heal on her boob, she actually mentioned it as an afterthought when she was at the doctors for something else. They referred her immediately, she's fine now but it no doubt saved her life having her weird scab checked. I'd always get anything like this checked if it isn't healing as you'd expect.

MandiY · 12/10/2022 19:14

Very unlikely to be cancer however you should still get it checked out to get some reassurance and find out how to treat it as it looks uncomfortable.

Prescottdanni123 · 12/10/2022 19:17

Definitely get it checked. It's probably nothing serious but its better to be safe than sorry.

Watapalava · 12/10/2022 19:17

Looks like a bite to me

spider bite

Foronenightonly01 · 12/10/2022 19:22

Probably nothing but definitely get it checked just in case!!

Campervangirl · 12/10/2022 19:24

Down to the GP you go, lovely.
It's probably nothing but it's worth checking, they'll take it seriously and check it out but make sure you tell them about the itchy nipple.
If you get referred to the breast clinic you will be well looked after if it's anything like ours.
Let us know how you get on x

Itsfallingwithstyle · 12/10/2022 19:30

You need a referral to the breast clinic op, hopefully that will give you peace of mind. I was seen within 1 week of my GP referring me just for info re timescales.

Bohemian18 · 12/10/2022 21:02

Try a hydrocortisone cream you can buy at the chemist. You can also use it on the itchy nipple. You could mention it to the pharmacist but they’ll tell you to see your GP.

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 12/10/2022 21:06

Is it a boil? You definitely should get it checked out.

FireballTwenty · 13/10/2022 06:30

The itchy nipple definitely needs checking out.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 13/10/2022 06:33

As others have said, please get it checked out by your GP.
