Whooshing noise in ear - do I need to go to GP?

For the last 1-2 weeks I've had a whooshing noise in my ear, it lasts maybe 30 seconds and happens periodically throughout the day. It's happened in my left and right ears, but mainly my left ear. The whooshing seems to be happening at the same rate as my heart rate. I don't notice a pattern with it happening when I'm exercising or resting, etc. It just seems to happen at random times, I can kind of feel a pressure in my ear when it happens.

I'm in my 20s, I had my blood pressure measured around 3 months ago at an unrelated check-up and it was normal. I had my COVID vaccine a week ago. The only medication I take is an SSRI.

I have been stressed lately due to work, but that has eased off now. I do feel quite tired like I'm on the brink of having a cold but fighting it off still, so I'm wondering if I have some kind of inflammation in my ears?

Do I need to go to the GP?

I have had tinnitus before but it was a ringing in the ears that happened when I was under a period of high stress, and it went away once that stress was over. I've also had this whooshing noise happen before but it's very rare that I can hear it, usually at night if I'm lying on my ear a certain way

I've had this all my life and just assumed it was normal like a pressure difference or something. Had my ears checked lots of times and never found any problems. I seem to get it mostly after standing up or turning round in bed. If it is new to you, definitely get it checked out for your own peace of mind.

I've had it on and off for years, never occurred to me to see a dr. Of course get it checked out if you're worried (and if you're one of the lucky ones who's actually able to see a GP!)
Seems to be linked to colds/sinusitis in my case.

It could be pulsatile tinnitus. It can be linked to anxiety. I think best you get it properly checked by your GP and referral if necessary. I have it and awaiting audiology referral. I've also got hyperacusis and some sounds are really loud. I've heard anecdotal stuff that some medications & postural tachycardia can cause tinnitus. It can be linked to hearing issues but it's often the brain compensating for hearing problems! I found to calm the tinnitus I do diaphragm breathing excercises (stimulates or calms the vagus nerve) plus ear popping. I also do neck excercises to strengthen the neck muscles. There's some good u tube stuff about tinitus but make sure they're presented by audiologist.

I had this, mine was (probably) eustacian tube disfunction and resolved using over the counter beconase for a couple of weeks. Was a pleasant relief when it stopped!
