How long will dental implants hurt for?

I had them done last Monday and I'm not doing great; so I just wondered

My understanding is they don't hurt much, and shouldn't be tender longer than a few days. Did you have other work done to fit them at the same time eg extraction?

KatyMac · 09/10/2022 18:44

Yes 2 crowns have failed so they had to take out the roots

It's not so bad in the morning but is quite achy by mid afternoon

I guess it's dentist tomorrow then

Poop!

So they took out the roots and put the implants in on the same day? at least five days I would say , when i had mine done i was sent home with strong pain killers and the side of my face swelled up for 2-3 days as well, advise to keep cold compress on my face as well

KatyMac · 09/10/2022 20:24

I had very little swelling, and I needed proper painkillers for about 3 days

But this residual pain is annoying - but possibly expected as I have fibromyalgia & chronic fatigue

As it was Monday I guess it could leave it a bit longer before worrying overly

Ringing the dentist asap - I'm not even sure if it's the implants but I'm in agony!

I think its 2 teeth over! How daft

It's almost certainly sinusitis! So I need to shift it or see the GP for antibiotics

Poop!

There is a HUGE amount of sinus bugs going around at the moment. I suffer with chronic sinusitis and today I've developed a lovely throat tickle that is causing my teeth to thrive/ ache every time I cough. It's horrible. I really hope you find some relief.

KatyMac · 11/10/2022 12:46

Thanks @somebody2lava any hints/tips if you get it often?

Feeling pretty ropey really

Netti pot filled with water and a pinch of salt and a pinch of bicarbonate of soda. Rinse through and fully blow your sinuses twice a day. Alter are with warm and cool compresses across the front of the face, including forehead and cheeks. If you find your sinuses are too wet/blocked then you can get short term over the counter decongestants . If they are too dry you can get sinus spray or gel on Amazon that is moisturising.

It's brutal, and just since this morning it feels like my back teeth are beating in rhythm with my heart. I hate it.

Thanks - I wonder if it will clear up without antibiotics

My ears are a bit mucky too

I think I'm scared of being too aggressive with my sinuses because of my recent surgery so close by
