Has she seen a consultant ? All under ones with asthma symptoms are supposed to see one, so if not, demand that you do. DS had a lot of tests to rule other things out, but they still won't say its asthma.
Our consultant gave us loads of information on minimising the effects.
He said that the bedroom should be not too cold, vacuum daily, damp dust, and wash all bedding at 60' to kill dust mites.
We prop Ds's bed up so that his head is raised which helps, although now he's on a pillow thats all. If he has a cold we do use Medised at night as it helps dry things up and stop the coughing (is this what you mean by an attack ?), and we use a Karvol diffuser which seems to help a bit.

My ds is 2 and had cronic asthma for over a year now. We've had 5 stays in hospital over the last year so been a bit stressful. Several things we've been told is wash all bedding ever 2-3 days (normal cotton bedding is fine), keep his room warm (but not hot), If the radiator in his room is on then hang a damp towel over it to moisten the air.
